Sarah Michelle Gellar she lives in California, five minutes away from her Mother's house, which Sarah bought for her for her birthday.
 Sarah's Father walked out on the family when she was seven. Sarah's Mother, Rosellen. Sarah is very close to her Mother and Rosellen has always supported Sarah in her career. They struggled during the early years, joking that they ate pasta every night of the week except Fridays, which was Kraft Macaroni and cheese night. Sarah has two dogs called Thor and Tyson. She worked to pay for her education. She graduated two years early and got her first TV break in All My Children at 15.
Sarah started Buffy when she was 19. She has appeared in more than 100 commercials. She's done voice work, as Gwendy Doll in Small Soldiers and in an episode of the King of the Hill TV series. She's appeared on the Tonight show with Jay Leno, Late Night with David Letterman, and Regis and Kathie Lee. She made an appearance on VH1 Divas Live and at the MTV Video Music Awards.
She's also done her share of TV movies, including Beverly Hills Family Robinson (1977) A Woman named Jackie (1991). She was in An Invasion of Privacy (1983), and Over the Brooklyn Bridge (1984) and was credited Sarah Gellar in High Stakes (1989). Her most recent feature films include I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, Simply Irresistible, and Cruel Intentions. She is not credited in She's All That, playing a girl in the Cafeteria. The Buffy company was filming at Torrance High the same day, and she put in cameo. She is also working on her two new films, Harvard Man and The It Girl.
Sarah has won many awards for her hard work: her Emmy, MTV Awards for Best Female Performance as well as Best Kiss (Cruel Intentions), a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for I Know What You Did Last Summer, and one of the first annual Teen Choice Awards (for her role on Buffy), TV Guide awards (including magazine honours such as being named one of TV Guide's 20 Great Faces as well as the show's innumerable honours at the TV Guide Annual Awards annual ceremony), and magazine awards too numerous to mention. In FHM's 100 sexiest women she came 1st in 1999 and 3rd in 2000 beaten by Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.
The Emmy Award-winning actress (for Kendall Hart in All my Children) has appeared on the covers of dozens of magazines, from TV Guide, Mademoiselle, and Teen People, to Rolling Stone. One of People magazine's Most Beautiful People for 1998, that year she signed up to be Maybelline's first celebrity spokeswoman since Linda Carter in the late 1970s.
Sarah worked on The I in Team (Buffy episode) despite being very ill with a fever. She burst into hacking coughs between takes, but nevertheless took the time to mother co-star Marc Blucas, who was also sick. The question on everyone's mind was if she could make it through to her last day of work. Of course she did. Alyson Hannigan says of hers she knows everything. She works so many hours, doesn't have a break, and is still on top of everything. Alyson wonders aloud if maybe Sarah has a chip in her head!
Sarah Michelle Gellar has dated these famous people; Ryan Philippe, Matthew Perry, Jerry O'Connell and is currently engaged Freddie Prinze Jr.
If Sarah was stranded on a desert island and she could bring five CD's, they would be, Portshead Dummy, Cree Summer, The American version of chess, Stevie Wonder and Harry Potter books on tape. And these are the five foods she would bring, Sushi, Water, Sushi, Water, Sushi and Water!
She collects antique children's books and she's taken cooking classes. She loves to barbeque and she's a confirmed omnivore, stating, A little steak, a little hamburger never hurt anybody.
Ever since she started working on All My Children, she has donated money to charities. She says her mother always taught her to give back, and she does. In May 2000, Sarah went over to Barahona, a small Island in the Dominican Republic (Caribbean) despite her fear of flying to help a family's rebuild their houses after Hurricane George's destroyed them. They were working in the boiling hot sun and she put her career on hold to go there.
In her free time, Sarah likes to go to the Cinema and loves doing Karaoke.
